In Dreams

It's not uncommon for me to wake up some morning's and not remember the dreams I had.  Sometimes I believe I really don't dream but in reality, it might just be that I forget them too quickly. When I tell my mum this she usually follows on the conversation about the dreams she has - and the majority of the time they are just weird. One thing she does frequently have dreams about is being lost. Countless times she's told me about her dreams of people - some being family members (Her Dad and/or Brother), that have driven her out into the middle of nowhere, told her to get out of the car and just left her there. Each time has been a different location and vehicle and has resulted in her having to find her way back home.  This has been a frequent and repetitive dream of hers for around a year or so.

In dreams, being lost or trying to find something or someone is usually down to a deep anxiety of a current situation, according to Cathleen O'Connor, Ph.D., author of "The Everything Law of Attraction Dream Dictionary" talking in an interview on Huffington Post, O'Connor states, "Usually, the meaning has to do with a current situation in your life where you are anxious that you will not find your way -- perhaps a new job where you feel your skills are not optimal, a move to a new city where you are anxious about fitting in and making new friends or perhaps an important task at work with a deadline looming."

Although I recently have had no dreams ( I very rarely remember my dreams as it is) about this subject, it's definitely something I believe. Instead of manifesting in my dreams, the feeling seems to have met me in my conscious state of being.

There are many psychological interpretations of lost dreams:

  • You feel insecure in new surroundings or unfamiliar situations.
  • A new situation has arisen and you don’t know what to do.
  • You are stifled in your current situation and you want to escape.
  • You can’t find a solution to your problem, or you need clarity or answers.
  • There is an important decision to make, but you can’t face up to it.
  • You are unprepared for something that is coming, such as a new job or baby.
  • You have always depended on other people and you fear to lose them.
  • You are in a rut and have lost your sense of purpose.
