For my first shoot, I have taken my photos with both digital and 120 film. I first took them with digital to see roughly what everything would look like. During the shoot, I decided on using a prop to distort and detach the subject from the camera as I believed this would further explain the feeling of being disconnected and lost from something that supposedly keeps you feeling safe.
For the digital ones, I purposefully underexposed the photos to create an unsettled feeling. My bed was messy in appearance as I wanted to show that it had been used but the occupant wasn't there - turning it into a lost plain that should bring comfort but doesn't.
My analog ones had a minor problem. During the shoot, I stupidly opened the back of my camera and exposed around 5 photos worth of film for a few seconds, this completely fogged this portion of the film so I was only able to gather 6 eligible photos from it. Being in such little natural light I was forced to shoot the photos at a rather low shutter speed and for that reason, some of the photos have camera shake. However, I don't see this at all as a bad thing. As well as using props to distract the scene for my digital photos, I also experimented using the method on my 120 film. The results show some unusual black figures and areas blocking out parts of the scene.
From my imagination, this wasn't what I really wanted to produce. I had the idea of them being better lit than they are and with a better composition. I also don't think I like the idea of just taking pictures of an inanimate object for this project and I don't think this shoot works well with my idea as much i thought it would
